Area Focus: Cornelius Parks

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that the best part of living in Cornelius is the proximity to Lake Norman and so many outdoor spaces. The town is brimming with parks of all types. What follows is a list of favorites and their amenities!

Ramsey Creek Park at Lake Norman

This stunning park features almost 44 acres of waterfront shoreline with a sandy beach area, a boat launch area with docks, 3 picnic shelters, a volleyball court, a playground, and 1.5 miles of walking nature trails.

It has all the feel of a day at the Coast without the time in the car. There’s san, there’s sun, there’s even a little bit of surf. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, the beach does have lifeguards. Be sure to check their website for entrance fees! Ramsey Creek Beach is a great option for those that don’t happen to own lakefront property. It’s the best of both worlds!

Jetton Park

Also situated on the shores of Lake Normn is the ever popular Jetton Park. At 19000 Jetton Road, this park features 104 acres and a sunning beach. It’s not a beach in the same sense of the word as Ramsey Creek, as there’s no swimming. But sometimes you just need to feel your toes in the sand and the sun on your face. Jetton Park is perfect for that.

Also available are picnic shelters, tennis courts, a formal garden, a 1.3 mile bike trail, and a 1.5 mile walking/running trail. There are several sites available to reserve for events. Rent a waterfront hall, a gazebo with the perfect backdrop for a wedding, or even rent the beach!

Bailey Road Park

For all things sports, locals love Bailey Road Park. There you will find baseball fields, a disc golf course, batting cages, and multiple multi-purpose fields. Play soccer, tennis, football, or simple go for a jog. No matter your age, there’s something for you at Bailey Road Park. Be it picnic shelters, a unique farm themed playground, and space to grill, it’s fun for the whole family.
