Charlotte Schools Ranked by Test Scores

So you’re shopping for a home. You know how many bedrooms you want, what lot size you desire, and you have a general idea of what neighborhood in which you’d like to reside. Surely you’ve done your homework in regards to school rankings but we’re here to take it one step further. Recently, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, along with the South Carolina Department of Education, released data on the best ACT scores in Charlotte.

The ACT is a national college admissions test that evaluates students in all four major departments of education: english, math, reading, and science. The scores from these four sections are computed into one final number, the ACT score. Because this test looks at all four major subjects, it is considered a great litmus test for the overall knowledge a student possesses. Essentially, one could say, the higher a school’s ACT average, the better the school.

College Readiness

The test has a max score of 36 and is generally taken by students in their Junior and/or Senior years of high school. The 2018-2019 school year saw North Carolina students with an average of 18.4. Which Charlotte area schools bested that number?
